This cute Newton cape was in significant disrepair. The original owners had let the shrubs grow right up over the windows. The walkway and the old backyard terrace were crumbling. A few key changes brought this adorable abode into the modern world.
Masons Luiz and Lucas Netto replaced the walkway with beautiful handpicked natural bluestone. They took apart the cement walls on each side of the stairs and and installed bluestone treads and a bluestone landing. To give the stairs a modern touch, they cemented cut pieces of bluestone on each rise. Faithful Flowers ran perennial beds on either side of the walkway along with low voltage landscape lighting to create a warm welcome home.
We painted the door a beautiful blue from Benjamin Moore's Grand Entrance paints. The window panels were returned to a calming cream color.
We used the existing old stone, cleaned it up and added additional bluestone to expand the terrace footprint. We ran a bed of roses, peony and sedum along the fenceline.
Faithful Flowers replaced all the screens and gave the porch a fresh coat of paint. We ran another bed of hydrangea, rose of sharon and catmint along the porch line. Over time these plantings will grow taller and dinner out on the porch will feel like dinner in the garden!
A good garden will have plants flowering all through the season. Our client loves color, clean lines and especially peonies. Faithful Flowers strove to deliver it all.
