Chipping Away in Chestnut Hill

We first met this wonderful Chestnut Hill Family a couple of years ago and we presented them with a master landscape plan. Many clients prefer to chip away at a plan rather than doing it all at once and this often opens up new possibilities. The first order of business was to provide an updated front walkway to this beautiful Chestnut Hill home. Lucas and Luiz built a beautiful winding bluestone walkway. We removed the old school lamp and added low voltage landscape lighting.

While the front beds needed an update, we decided to focus our energy on the backyard. The tiny brick terrace provided little entertaining space. We demoed the area and installed a beautiful bluestone terrace, a step up mahogany deck and a landing flanked by custom mahogany planters. We inserted a bespoke corten bed into the terrace and deck to create a demarcation between the lawn and new entertainment area.

This season, we were able to tackle these overgrown front plantings.

We left a few foundation plantings and brought in hydrangeas, sedum, azaleas, and catmint. We kept it simple to keep the focus on the home and provide color all year round.
